The Lil Peckers delivered a statement performance, overwhelming the Edm Cobra with a relentless offensive attack to cruise to a 10-4 victory. From the opening puck drop, it was clear the Lil Peckers were on a mission, firing an impressive 31 shots on goal in the first period alone. The game was high-octane from the start, with Trentin Wolfe (#19) opening the scoring at the 12:15 mark of the first period to set the tone. The Cobra’s Mark Haworth (#45) and Jason Lindemulder (#6) answered back with goals of their own, briefly tying the game at 2-2. However, the Lil Peckers’ firepower was simply too much, as they closed out the first period with two more goals, including another from Wolfe, to take a 4-2 lead into the intermission.
The second period belonged entirely to the Lil Peckers, who exploded for five unanswered goals to put the game completely out of reach. The dynamic line of Trentin Wolfe and Joey Botha (#55) was unstoppable, with Wolfe completing a hat trick at the 11:11 mark and then scoring his fourth of the game just a minute later. The Lil Peckers spread the wealth as Vince Corriveau (#67) and Joey Botha also found the back of the net, and Wolfe capped a phenomenal period with his fifth goal of the night with just 25 seconds left on the clock. The Cobra’s goalie, Troy LePage (#1), faced an onslaught of 31 shots through just the first period and a near-impossible workload, but the sheer volume of quality chances from the Lil Peckers proved too much to handle. A single penalty in the game, a minor trip called against the Lil Peckers, was quickly killed off and did little to slow their momentum.
Though the game was well in hand, the Lil Peckers continued their pressure in the third period with Brandon Ali (#93) and Joey Botha, who scored his second of the night, extending the lead to 10-2. The Cobra showed resilience, with James Wiwad (#10) and a second goal from Mark Haworth providing a glimmer of fight in the final frame. However, the deficit was too great to overcome. The Lil Peckers’ starting goalie, Andrew Nanista (#98), was the beneficiary of the offensive explosion, facing just 18 total shots to earn the win. The final score of 10-4 was a reflection of the Lil Peckers’ explosive offense and the special night from Trentin Wolfe, whose five-goal performance was the undeniable headline of a one-sided affair.
