The Edm Reapers delivered a clinical and overwhelming performance, shutting out the MCA Holes 5-0 in a game that showcased their offensive firepower and defensive discipline. The Reapers wasted no time establishing control, with Sheldon Ouellet (#99) opening the scoring just over a minute into the first period at 8:22, assisted by Tyson Gauthier (#9) and Palmer Talbot (#69). Ouellet struck again with just 18 seconds left in the period, this time on a feed from Khalid Haymour (#77) and Sammer Borhot (#2), giving the Reapers a commanding 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission.
The second period saw the Reapers pour it on, scoring three more unanswered goals to put the game firmly out of reach. Khalid Haymour (#77) converted just 30 seconds into the period, assisted again by Gauthier and Borhot. Then, just 46 seconds later, Shadi Borhot (#44) made it 4-0 with an unassisted strike at 8:40. Ouellet completed his hat trick at 2:37, with Haymour picking up another assist. The MCA Holes, despite some chances, could not solve Reapers goalie Billy Dorish (#22), who stopped all nine shots he faced to earn the shutout. At the other end, Ming Leung (#42) faced 20 shots and surrendered five, taking the loss in a tough outing for the home side.
The game grew increasingly chippy in the third period, with a flurry of penalties at the 1:36 mark. The MCA Holes’ Adam Frank (#71) was assessed a double minor for head contact, a roughing minor, and an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, while Kyle Reid (#18) also took a minor for body contact. The Reapers’ Khalid Haymour (#77) was also handed a double minor for head contact, and Sammer Borhot (#2) had earlier taken a tripping penalty at 8:11. Despite the parade to the penalty box, the Reapers' penalty kill held firm, and the MCA Holes could never find a way to crack the scoreboard, sealing a dominant 5-0 victory for Edm.
