SEASON DETAILS


All games played out of
ESFA SOUTH - 6520 Roper Rd NW, Edmonton, AB T6B 3K8

Season will begin July 29/31, 2025

10 games (8 regular season games + 2 playoff games)

ONLY 6-8 teams for Monday-Thursday will be accepted this season.

Team Registrations - (June 29, 2025 - July 21, 2025) - $1600/team + GST (Or until sold out)

** Please note: Leagues will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Registration alone does not confirm placement, payment must be received at the time of registration to secure a spot.

What You Need to Know


RULES & REGULATIONS

  • Unless otherwise specified, all play will be governed by the official CBHA rulebook.
  • Alcohol consumption outside of the lounge (and within the facility) will not be tolerated; players and/or teams will be suspended for any infractions pertaining to this.
  • No offsides or icings will be called.
  • Once ball is covered in the crease by the goalie, the attacking team must give the defending team approximately five seconds to play the ball and must back away from their opponent.
  • If a player is fouled they shall be awarded a penalty shot.
  • If no goal is scored play will resume after five seconds once all players are back on the floor and the defending team has possession of the ball.
  • Face-offs will only occur to start each half of play.
  • After a goal is scored the attacking team must give the defending team approximately five seconds to play the ball.
  • CO-ED RULE is as follows:
  • Minimum 1 female must be on the floor at all times. If that player is a Goaltender, then each of the three runners may be male.
  • Team divisions are recreational versus competitive.
  • Re tiering will be considered if teams are placed in the wrong division based on skill set and consistent scoring differentials.
  • All players must play at least 3 regular season games in order to participate in playoff games.
  • Timekeepers are officials too and can report major or match penalties, should they witness it, to the officials presiding over the game.
  • If necessary, the timekeeper will assist the officials in writing the incident report post-game.

ROSTER & TEAM INFORMATION

  • Teams must wear matching uniforms/jerseys - these uniforms should all be the same base color - jersey numbers ARE required as statistics will be recorded for players. Matching shorts and socks are NOT required for game play.
  • Teams are allowed to have a maximum of 9 players on their bench.
  • Teams are allowed to have a maximum of 1 coach on the bench. The coach’s name must be listed on the team’s roster for the game.
  • Rosters are to be submitted into YEG CO- ED no later than April 1, 2025.
  • Subs must fill out a waiver form if they are invited to play with a team, this ensures we can track our players consistently.
  • Team Rosters can be a maximum of 12 players, no subs outside of the roster are permitted to play for the team. One team per player.

PLAYOFFS

  • All Divisions: All teams will be guaranteed a playoff game, winners to move on to the next round.
  • Shootout will determine the winner if the playoff game is tied, alternating between male, female, male in a best of 3 series.
  • After that, sudden death shootout rules will apply. Visiting team shoots first.
  • Suspensions - All fines and suspensions are listed in a separate document.
  • Any player incurring a suspension and fine will receive a punishment designated by the league directors.
  • Suspensions can be appealed, however, the discretion of the league directors will determine the outcome.

Team Standings


Regulation Win = 2 Points; Ties = 1 Point; Loss = 0 Points.

Equipment


All player equipment must be D-GEL or CSA approved.

YEG COED Ball Hockey reserves the right to approve all street hockey gear for goalies as long as it has not been altered from its original state.

CSA approved helmets are mandatory for players and officials.

Gloves are mandatory.

Ages 17 and under are FREE - Ages 60 and over are FREE.
