Summer Midseason Update!
An update from BHE1, as we move forward to the second half of the Summer 2024 season.
We will go over a several topics which include Division Realignment/Re-Tier, Regular Season 2nd half schedule, Playoff Formats, Playoff Overtime Rules and Roster Freeze.
Emergency Goalie Eligibility Amendment - Regular Season Only
With the new tiered division format, emergency goalie eligibility is being altered for the remainder of the season. Keep in mind all emergency goalies MUST be rostered within BHE1.
Division 1/2 can use anyone Div 1-14.
Division 3 can use anyone Div 3-14.
Division 4/5 can use anyone Div 4-14.
Division 6 can use anyone Div 6-14.
Division 7 can use anyone Div 7-14.
Division 8/9 can use anyone Div 8-14.
Division 10/11 can use anyone Div 10-14.
Division 12, 13 & 14 can use anyone Div 12-14. (At request of Div 14 teams)
Re-Tiering
Important to note, in some division splits, we didn’t solely use records for re-tier purposes. We used opponents played as well as late roster moves where a team’s roster when everyone present is stronger than reflected in their current record.
Teams moving up or down tiers, their record essentially resets and we take only their winning percentage from within their new Division for playoff positioning. Teams staying in their original “tier” but have shifted to a split division will carry their first half record and win %.
We had some issues with our website in past seasons, which appear to be continuing, calculating the adjusted win percentages. We will send out manual updates via email between now and the end of the season.
Regular Season Schedule
The 2nd “half” schedule, games 11-20 for teams, has been submitted and should be uploaded and on the website within 48 hours of you receiving this email, if not already available.
Playoff Format & Rules
Players must have played 5 games (25 % of the season) to be playoff eligible, goaltenders need one game played to be eligible. There are absolute zero affiliate players or emergency goalies permitted in playoffs. If a goaltender injury occurs, a team may apply for an injury exemption to be reviewed.
Remaining Split Divisions like 12/13 etc will split for Playoffs and become Division 12 and 13 etc
Division 1 - 3 Teams
1st will have a bye to the Division 1 Finals. Semi Finals Best of 3s, (2v3).
Division 1 championship in a Best of 3 Series.
Division 2 - 6 Teams
Division 2 Playoffs - Quarter Finals - Single Elimination (4v5), Semi Finals Best of 3s, (1v4,2v3), Winners will Play in Best of 3 Finals.
Division 3 - 6 Teams
Division 3 Playoffs - Quarter Finals - Single Elimination (4v5), Semi Finals Best of 3s, (1v4,2v3), Winners will Play in Best of 3 Finals.
Division 4 - 6 Teams
Division 4 Playoffs - Quarter Finals - Single Elimination (4v5), Semi Finals Best of 3s, (1v4,2v3), Winners will Play in Best of 3 Finals.
Division 6 - 6 Teams
Division 6 Playoffs - Quarter Finals - Single Elimination (4v5), Semi Finals Best of 3s, (1v4,2v3), Winners will Play in Best of 3 Finals.
Division 7 - 6 Teams
Division 7 Playoffs - Quarter Finals - Single Elimination (4v5), Semi Finals Best of 3s, (1v4,2v3), Winners will Play in Best of 3 Finals.
Division 8/9 - 8 Teams
Division 8 (Top 4 in 8/9) Playoffs - Semi Finals Best of 3s, (1v4,2v3), Winners will Play in Best of 3 Final
Division 9 (Bottom 4 in 8/9) Playoffs - Semi Finals Best of 3s, (5 vs 8, 6 vs 7), Winners will Play in Best of 3 Finals.
Division 10 - 6 Teams
Division 10 Playoffs - Quarter Finals - Single Elimination (4v5), Semi Finals Best of 3s, (1v4,2v3), Winners will Play in Best of 3 Finals.
Division 11 - 6 Teams
Division 11 Playoffs - Quarter Finals - Single Elimination (4v5), Semi Finals Best of 3s, (1v4,2v3), Winners will Play in Best of 3 Finals.
Division 12/13 - 8 Teams
Division 12 (Top 4 in 12/13) Playoffs - Semi Finals Best of 3s, (1v4,2v3), Winners will Play in Best of 3 Final
Division 13 (Bottom 4 in 12/13) Playoffs - Semi Finals Best of 3s, (5 vs 8, 6 vs 7), Winners will Play in Best of 3 Finals.
Division 14 - 9 Teams
Division 14 Playoffs - Quarter Finals - Single Elimination (4v5), Semi Finals Best of 3s, (1v4,2v3), Winners will Play in Best of 3 Finals.
Division 14 Rec Playoffs - Semi Finals - Single Elimination (6v9, 7v8), Winners will Play in Single Elimination Div 14 Rec Div Championship.
Playoff Overtime Format
10 minutes of 5on5 Overtime. 5 Minutes of 4on4 Overtime. Continuous 3on3 Overtime. Clock will be set to 99 minutes for continuous 3on3 OT. There will be no switching ends in overtime.
Uniforms & Roster Freeze
If there is a conflict where both teams have for example black jerseys, the home team is required to wear pinnies during the regular season. In playoffs, the visitor is required to wear the pinnies.
