Fall Midseason Update!
Team Reps,
An update from BHE1, as we move forward to the second half of the Fall 2025 season.
We will go over several topics which include Division Realignment/Re-Tier, Regular Season 2nd half schedule, Playoff Formats, Playoff Overtime Rules and Roster Freeze.
Emergency Goalie Eligibility Amendment - Regular Season Only
With the new tiered division format, emergency goalie eligibility is as listed below. Keep in mind all emergency goalies MUST be rostered within BHE1.
Division 1/2 can use anyone Div 1-14.
Division 3 can use anyone Div 3-14
Division 4 can use anyone Div 4-14.
Division 5 can use anyone Div 5-14.
Division 6 can use anyone Div 6-14.
Division 7 can use anyone Div 7-14.
Division 8 can use anyone Div 8-14.
Division 9 can use anyone Div 9-14.
Division 10 can use anyone Div 10-14.
Division 11 can use anyone Div 11-14.
Division 12, 13 & 14 can use anyone Div 12-14 (Tier 7).
Re-Tiering
Important to note, in some division splits, we didn’t solely use records for re-tier purposes. We used opponents played as well as late roster moves where a team’s roster when everyone present is stronger than reflected in their current record. Please note, we will monitor games into the second half of the season. Additional team re-tier movement is needed, we will assess and adjust accordingly.
NEW AS OF FALL 2024: After receiving feedback from multiple team reps, we are now adapting a new re-tier standing format. Only your games in your playoff division count towards playoff standings, which is all games 9 through 16 and any games you played against your playoff division teams in games 1 through 8.
Current Standings are attached at the bottom of this email. We will continue to provide updates via email to team reps as our RAMP online system doesn’t compute these numbers. As these updates are done by hand, please reach out immediately if you see an error or discrepancy.
Regular Season Schedule
The 2nd “half” schedule, games 9-16 for teams, has been submitted and should be uploaded and on the website within 48 hours of you receiving this email, if not already available.
Playoff Format & Rules
Players must have played 4 games (25 % of the season) to be playoff eligible, goaltenders need one game played to be eligible. There are absolute zero affiliate players or emergency goalies permitted in playoffs. If a goaltender injury occurs, a team may apply for an injury exemption to be reviewed.
Division 1 & 2 - 3 Teams
Division 1 & 2 Playoffs - Semi Finals Best of 3s, (2v3), Winner will Play 1st Seed in Best of 3 Finals for the Division 1 and 2 Championships
Division 3,4 & 10 - 5 Teams
Division 3, 4 & 10 Playoffs - Quarter Finals - Single Elimination (4v5), Semi Finals Best of 3s, (1v4,2v3), Winners will Play in Best of 3 Finals
Division 5,6,7,8,9,13 & 14 - 6 Teams
Division 5,6,7,8,9,13 & 14 Playoffs - Quarter Finals - Single Elimination (4v5 & 3v6), Semi Finals Best of 3s, (1v4,2v3), Winners will Play in Best of 3 Finals
Division 11 - 8 Teams
Division 11 Playoffs - Wild Card Play Offs- Single Elimination (5v8 & 6v7), Quarter Finals - Single Elimination (4v5 & 3v6). Semi Finals Best of 3s, (1v4,2v3), Winners will Play in Best of 3 Finals
Division 12 - 7 Teams
Division 12 Playoffs - Wild Card Play Offs- Single Elimination (6v7), Quarter Finals - Single Elimination (4v5 & 3v6). Semi Finals Best of 3s, (1v4,2v3), Winners will Play in Best of 3 Finals
Playoff Overtime Format
5 minutes (1st 4 minutes runtime, last minute stop time) of 3 on 3 sudden death overtime, if still tied after overtime, we will have a 1 round sudden death shootout, which will continue if needed, until we declare a winner. Players cannot shoot a second time until everyone on their team has shot.
Roster Freeze
As the roster freeze has now passed, there is no roster moves (additions or deletions) permitted, whether that’s formally or on a game sheet.
